Activate Group, Activate Accident Repair’s parent company, has announced its acquisition of two well-established Motorcare bodyshops in Tunbridge Wells (Kent) and Bristol, supported by further investment from Elysian Capital, following the transaction in January which saw them take a significant stake in the group.
The move marks the first acquisition of existing repair sites by the group and represents a new chapter in its commitment to expanding its owned repair capacity in high-demand areas.
Further growth for Activate Accident Repair
Since 2019, Activate Accident Repair, the group’s bodyshop division, has grown significantly through the development of purpose-built, state-of-the-art repair centres. This acquisition allows Activate Group to further enhance its capacity to deliver high-quality repairs to the growing base of fleet and insurer clients, serviced by its sopp+sopp and Motor Repair Network businesses respectively.
As part of the acquisition, both sites will be rebranded under the Activate Accident Repair banner and will benefit from significant investment aimed at enhancing their existing capabilities. Upgrades will include cutting-edge repair technology, sustainable practices, and a commitment to a top-tier working environment for team members—all hallmarks of the Activate Accident Repair brand.
Hannah Wilcox, CEO of Activate Group, commented:
“Our acquisition of these Motorcare sites is a strategic step to better support our fleet and insurer clients, meeting the demands of our growing customer base in high-need areas.
We’re thrilled to welcome the skilled teams at Tunbridge Wells and Bristol into the Activate family and to build on their existing strengths, enhancing each site to reflect the high standards our customers expect from Activate Accident Repair.”
The new Tunbridge Wells & Bristol Sites
The Tunbridge Wells and Bristol sites will now form part of Activate Group’s approved repair network of more than 240 repair partners across the UK, boosting capacity in Kent and the Southwest.
The Tunbridge Wells site is a large, modern facility, fully equipped to service a wide range of vehicles, including electric and hybrid models. The site boasts exceptional prestige credentials, with the equipment and expertise to repair the most exclusive and unique vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Bristol site is ideally positioned to serve customers in the region, strengthening Activate Group’s ability to provide responsive, dependable accident repair services for both fleet and insurer clients.
With these strategic network additions, Activate Group reinforces its mission to transform the accident and repair industry through customer-focused, data-led services.
