Activate Accident Repair continue to grow and extend its EV repair capability with the opening of its Newcastle bodyshop
July 3, 2023

Activate Accident Repair are continuing their growth by announcing the opening of yet another hi-tech bodyshop, strengthening their position in the North East of England – Newcastle will be the 6th location for the business. This enhances the capability and capacity of Activate Groups hybrid repair solution which is made up its own bodyshop and repair partners.

The New Bodyshop

The new 20,000 Sq Ft bodyshop – which completed its first job on 27th September – is situated just 2 miles from Newcastle city-centre and, as with all the existing sites, is purpose built – providing significant resources, technology, processes and infrastructure to repair of all vehicle types, including the latest Electric Vehicle (EV) repairs.

All AAR sites have a dedicated EV and Hybrid repair bay with all tooling and equipment insulated and specific to working on EV and Hybrid vehicles. Following strict risk assessment and safety reviews, all procedures and safety equipment is in place to ensure the EV bay and charging areas are suitable and safe for repair and storage.

All technicians working on EV’s have received the latest training and qualifications to carry out repairs and routine maintenance in and around electric and hybrid vehicles. This allows the technician to have a good understanding of the construction, function and layout of these type of vehicles, making working on them safe, minimising any risk.

A first class repair service

As standard, customers can expect a first-class repair experience from the moment a vehicle arrives to the day it leaves site.

Lee Johnson, Newcastle Bodyshop Manager, commented: “Our first full week of repairing vehicles has gone extremely well, a lot of equipment training has taken place for our techs and currently we have close to 100 vehicles on site with an extremely busy workshop. Every member of staff has settled in really well and has embraced the culture we are trying to implement. We are all genuinely looking forward to the challenge ahead and our first full month of trading.”
